WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO

WHAT IS Fitly Joined Together?

Fitly Joined Together is an online resource for veterans, their caregivers, and loved ones. Our goal is to help Veterans heal by presenting them with tools, tips, recipes, natural remedies, and tutorials that will lead them to make more informed choices as they care for and repair their bodies.

I am so honored that you are investing your time with me and our community of like-minded individuals. As a chef, I am privileged to have created a wellness site that supports the well-being of veterans around the world.

My mission is to educate consumers on how to heal nutritionally by teaching the essentials of culinary education and sharing nutritional information so that veterans can start their journey towards a whole life in pursuit of optimal wellness.

I don’t claim to have all the answers neither am I perfect; however, I do know the power and ability the body possesses to heal itself. It saddens me to see veterans suffering unnecessarily due to false or misleading information or the lack of self-education that has either lead to health complications or even death.

Here at Fitly Joined Together we strive to educate veterans, caregivers, and their loved ones and give them the essentials to live a whole life. Our educational trainings and information are supported by our “4 Pillars”, STRENGTH, NOURISHMENT, STEADINESS, and SUPPORT. These pillars stand on our foundation of “Healing”.

Pillar 1

STRENGTH ///PHYSICAL

Within the STRENGTH Pillar we focus on the physical body. The educational training will fall into 3 areas: Movement, Pain Management and Energy.

Pillar 2

NOURISHMENT /// NUTRITION

The NOURISHMENT pillar will focus on all things nutrition, with a centralize focused on gut health and how the health of your Gut Microbiome affects so many other systems within the body. We will also explore topics in medicinal culinary herbs, aromatics (essential oils), nutrients, vitamins, and minerals.

Pillar 3

STEADINESS /// MENTAL HEALTH

STEADINESS is all about Mental Health.

I AM NOT A LICENSED THERAPIST OR PSYCHOLOGIST! THE INFORMATION I SHARE WITHIN THE STEADINESS/MENTAL HEALTH ASPECT IS ALL FROM MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCES.

I will be sharing what I have learned through the years of going to therapy AND group counseling. Within the STEADINESS/MENTAL HEALTH pillar we will focus on 3 areas of mental health: Spiritual, Mindset, and Self-care.

Pillar 4

SUPPORT///RESOURCES

Within the SUPPORT pillar we will share resources and information that are available to Veterans, caregivers, and their loved ones. Here you will find linked information for VA claims assistance, veteran related resources, caregiver support, as well as hobbies & lifestyle related activities.

MEET the founder

Hello! I’m Veronica Lisane, I’m a Corporate Executive Chef that has been in the culinary industry for 33 years.

I’m a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America Hyde Park. I’m a former Adjunct Professor for Culinary Arts as well as a Serve Safe Instructor and Proctor. I also have a background in broadcast journalism.

 .

What qualifies me to help Veterans?

-I am a military child of a father who served in the United States Navy for 28 years.

-I’ve been an independent caregiver for 5 families/individuals.

- I’ve been a spouse to a soldier who served in 2 branched of the military, the United States Marine Corps, and the United States Army.

I’ve lived through and seen the toll that our service men and women face while serving active duty, and as they transition into civilian life. I began to notice that life for veterans sometimes came with a multitude of challenges, whether it was combat related, mental health issues, PTSD, physical ailments & diseases, or just trying to cope due to working in stressful environments and/or people. Often this is compounded due to individuals dealing with childhood traumas as well.

I assisted a client on his weight loss journey in 2003 by preparing plant-based meals for him. With consistency, I was able to successfully help him (A) Help him lose weight, (B) reverse his Type 2 Diabetes, (C) come off ALL medications! All this was achieved simply by adjusting what he consumed and lifestyle changes. It was then that I begin to research common diseases and diagnosis plaguing our society and the connection to Food my research turned into speaking at Health Fair’s and gaining clients to assist them on their health journey.
